Starting Ipmi Driver Unsupported Version

This script would check the required version of IPMI driver for OM 6.1 to work. Starting ipmi driver: Unsupported version FAILED.

Dec 06, 2007  IPMI Driver Functionality. Event The IPMI driver supplies the IPMI But either no record was found or the record was not compatible with the version.

i fix the problem for my own now, with following

cmsng401 diff /etc/init.d/instsvcdrv /etc/init.d/instsvcdrv.orig

elif . egrep Nahanti Beryllium /etc/redhat-release

elif . grep Nahant /etc/redhat-release 2 /dev/null

It would be nice, if dell would be fix that for all Redhat-Clones like Scientific Linux, Centos. .

The same thing happens on CentOS 4. the Dell startup script looks in

/etc/redhat-release to determine what kind of system it is running on.

For RHEL4, the script expects to see the word Nahant, the codename for

RHEL4. I just add Nahant at the end of the line in

/etc/redhat-release and all is well. I wish Dell would come up with a

more flexible means of identifying the host OS.

Thanks, Srinivas for answer. ..

You shouldn t need to - 4.8 has a plenty new-enough IPMI driver
